A Ukrainian manufacturer known for its aerial systems is taking its drone technology to the ground with a six-wheeled unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) designed for a range of battlefield roles.
The new “Frodo” platform from Kyiv-based Frontline Robotics is envisioned for logistics, evacuation, and strike missions.
Its 6×6 chassis features adaptive independent suspension, helping the vehicle stay stable across difficult terrain such as potholes, rocky roads, and paths obstructed by fallen trees.

The UGV’s low center of gravity further improves its stability, while its design allows it to keep operating even if one wheel fails or is destroyed.
Its batteries can also be replaced by a single operator, reducing the need for a large support or maintenance team to keep the platform running.
Meeting What the Mission Requires
Built around a modular design, Frodo can be equipped with the company’s Buria robotic turret, an automatic grenade launcher, or a heavy machine gun for mobile fire support.
For communications, the UGV supports Starlink, LTE, Silvus, and other tactical modules.
Frodo comes with two day/night cameras for round-the-clock operations, while two additional thermal imaging cameras can be added depending on mission requirements.
Technicals and Specifications
The platform can reach speeds of 40 kilometers (25 miles) per hour and has a maximum operating range of 150 kilometers (93 miles).
It can carry up to 400 kilograms (882 pounds) of payload, allowing it to transport ammunition, supplies, or casualties during battlefield operations.
Frodo has already been codified for use and is currently undergoing training exercises with Ukrainian soldiers ahead of battlefield deployment.
