AM General is looking to revolutionize battlefield logistics with its latest innovation: an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that can serve as a “mothership” for other robotic platforms.
Revealed at Global Force 2026, the vehicle can transport up to four standard cargo pallets measuring 40 by 48 inches (102 by 122 centimeters) and supports configurable payloads for medical evacuation.
Beyond transport, the UGV is designed to carry and deploy unmanned aerial systems and smaller ground robots, including the FireAnt small-UGV from Swarmbotics AI.

The added capability points to a shift toward layered logistics operations, where a single vehicle can extend both delivery and reach into contested environments.
It could also help improve situational awareness, while reducing the need for personnel to operate in high-risk areas.
“We are excited to showcase the next generation of innovation at AUSA Global Force,” said John Chadbourne, president and chief executive officer of AM General.
“The UGV is a groundbreaking capability for army logistics needs. We’re also envisioning the additional benefits of this flexible platform, and it is an example of what collaborative industry initiatives can deliver.”
Core Technologies
Developed in collaboration with Carnegie Robotics and Textron Systems, the UGV integrates a satellite-enabled data link designed for low-latency connectivity in the field.

For situational awareness, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree thermal monocular camera system, supporting all-around visibility in low-light and degraded environments.
An advanced inertial navigation system provides positioning and navigation in environments where GPS may be limited.
Power is delivered by a new turbocharged 6.5-liter V8 engine producing around 250 horsepower and more than 550 pound-feet of torque.
The platform also adopts an open systems architecture, reducing reliance on a single vendor and allowing easier integration of future capabilities.
