NextGen Defense is building a platform for sharp, original thinking on the future of warfare, defense innovation, and emerging threats.

We welcome opinion and analysis from a wide range of contributors, especially those with deep expertise, real-world experience, or bold, evidence-based ideas.

We’re most interested in:

  • Thought-provoking arguments on next-gen capabilities and concepts
  • Commentary on military AI, autonomous systems, space defense, quantum, biotech, and related fields
  • Reflections on current events through the lens of future conflict
  • Constructive critiques of policy, doctrine, or procurement trends

Submissions must be exclusive and not previously published elsewhere. Cite all factual claims with links. Skip the footnotes; inline links help us fact-check faster.

The ideal length is 600–1,000 words, though longer pieces may be considered if the argument warrants it.

We may edit submissions for length, clarity, and style, and we’ll loop you in before making significant changes.

Send pitches or completed op-eds to editor@nextgendefense.com. We’ll be in touch if there’s a fit.

We do not accept commercially motivated op-eds or contributions from authors with undisclosed financial interests. For sponsored content or thought leadership partnerships, see our Advertising page.

Please include your name, a short bio, relevant affiliations, and a head-and-shoulders photo for your byline.

Published op-eds may be featured in our newsletters or printed material.

Let’s shape the conversation about what’s next in defense. 💪
