The Indian Navy is beginning to lean towards artificial intelligence to impose a more commanding presence over its oceanic regions.

Developed with industry partners like Blurgs Innovations, TRIDENT-SAMUDRA fuses satellites, coastal radars, underwater sensors, and naval vessels to monitor naval activities in real time.

Its AI algorithms collect and analyze large amounts of integrated data, flagging suspicious behavior along the way.

The system tracks commercial shipping routes and potential threats, providing a unified operational picture that lets the navy and coast guard respond faster to emerging situations.

Built to integrate seamlessly with India’s existing warships and command networks, TRIDENT-SAMUDRA aims to strengthen situational awareness across the fleet.

Freeing Up Personnel

Traditionally, monitoring maritime activity requires constant human attention and manual data processing from various sources.

TRIDENT-SAMUDRA automates much of this workload, using edge computing to process large volumes of data quickly.

This capability gives commanders more time to focus on high-intensity missions.

The system made its debut at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, signaling a major step in India’s drive toward smarter, more responsive naval operations.
