Denmark is helping Ukraine fight Russian drones by integrating an AI-based detection system into Kyiv’s Horska interceptors.
The drone detection system comes from Danish defense firm Terma A/S and was recently put through a series of frontline tests.
Brave1 helped run the trials, gathering feedback from troops to fine-tune the AI and make it more effective under real combat conditions.
Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said the upgrade is meant to extend how far the interceptors can identify Russian drones while improving target recognition accuracy.
“This is a unique experience that cannot be acquired anywhere else in the world. Therefore, global technologies evolve precisely in Ukraine,” he said.
Grounds for Experience
A lead engineer, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda, emphasized that the collaboration between Ukraine and Denmark enables access to “the right kind of data and the right kind of feedback.”
“We want to help Ukraine, but we also want to learn. So meetings like these, where military personnel with frontline experience come in and tell us what is not working, are vital for us,” the engineer added.
A new phase of trials will evaluate an upgraded version that already integrates frontline feedback, moving the system closer to full operational validation.
