Ukrainian firm Varta is fielding a new counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) designed to stop threats buzzing over modern battlefields.
Called DroneHunter Varta, the system is intended to give infantry units a dedicated tool to defend against fast-moving first-person view (FPV) drones at close range.
It combines detection, tracking, and kinetic interception in a single workflow, streamlining counter-drone operations and allowing forces to respond to drone threats more efficiently.

Hard-Kill Defense
Unlike electronic countermeasures, DroneHunter Varta relies on physical engagement, using an electric initiation board to neutralize targets at 35 to 50 meters (115 to 164 feet).
Its modular design, featuring a universal mounting bracket, allows it to be mounted on a variety of drone platforms, offering adaptability across different missions.
Its firing system uses counterbalancing 12-caliber charges to maintain stability and control during intercepts.

‘NATO-Ready’
The system reportedly meets NATO standards and is ready for deployment in Ukraine, Europe, and the US, addressing growing demand for compact, reliable counter-drone solutions.
Recently introduced at CES 2026, DroneHunter Varta has already undergone both lab and real-world combat trials, proving it can effectively destroy fast-moving FPV drones.
With mission-specific customization and full military-standard compliance, the system is positioned as a reliable solution for modern close-range counter-drone missions.
