Military vehicles can now clear minefields and mark safe lanes in a single, continuous operation thanks to a new modular system from Switzerland-based firm Global Clearance Solutions (GCS).
The platform combines the company’s Modular Mine Plow with an integrated lane-marking system, allowing crews to breach minefields and mark cleared routes without interrupting vehicle movement.
Mounted on the front of armored tracked or wheeled vehicles, the mine plow is designed to displace landmines and other explosive hazards.

Crews can adjust the clearing depth between 5 and 300 millimeters (0.2 to 11.8 inches) while on the move, allowing the system to respond to changing terrain and threat conditions without stopping.
As the vehicle advances, an integrated lane-marking system continuously deploys markers on one or both sides of the cleared route.
The pole-based markers use glow-in-the-dark materials and optional tactical lighting to remain visible in degraded conditions.
Solving an Operational Hurdle
Minefield breaching is essential for maintaining battlefield mobility, but it often exposes troops to danger.
It also requires multiple coordinated steps, from clearing explosive hazards to marking safe lanes for following forces.
GCS aims to simplify that process by combining both functions into a single, repeatable operation that keeps crews protected inside their vehicles throughout the mission.

“Minefield breaching does not end once a passage has been created. The path must be marked immediately without exposing the crew,” said Philipp von Michaelis, chief executive officer and co-founder of GCS.
“The Modular Mine Plow and the Lane Marking System were developed to meet this operational requirement: to open the passage, mark it while driving, and ensure that the crew can remain in the protected vehicle.”
The platform was showcased at the Eurosatory 2026 event in Paris.
