A Polish-developed drone swarm system demonstrated 1-meter (3-foot) strike precision during a recent live test, marking another step toward operational use for autonomous swarm technology.
During the trial, the IRYDA+ X1 detonated 5 meters (16 feet) above ground, covering a 30-meter (98-foot) diameter target area.
Developed by MBF Group SA, the new fixed-wing system is designed to operate as a coordinated drone swarm, including in GPS-denied environments.
One of its standout features is the ability for a single operator to plan, coordinate, and execute missions involving multiple drones simultaneously.
The platform also uses an open architecture that enables real-time data sharing between aircraft and supports future AI capabilities and payloads without requiring major modifications.
IRYDA+ X1 has an endurance of up to 60 minutes, operates at ranges exceeding 20 kilometers (12 miles), cruises at 30 kilometers (19 miles) per hour, and can carry a 300-gram (11-ounce) payload.
Preparing for Debut
MBF Group SA developed the drone with Turkish company Shark Aviation Dynamics, describing it as one of the few Polish-designed drone systems to progress beyond the prototype stage.
The company is preparing IRYDA+ X1 for operational evaluation and potential deployment with allied partners.
Its first public unveiling is scheduled for July in Turkey, followed by full demonstrations in Warsaw.
MBF Group SA also plans to work with the Polish Armed Forces, border authorities, and police to explore operational use cases.
