Indian firm N3X Defence has given its WRATH unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) a new way into the fight, unveiling a concept designed to support shoot-and-scoot tactics.

Released imagery shows a High Mobility Vehicle (HMV) fitted with a rear-mounted launcher carrying five containerized WRATH drones.

Once in position, a hydraulic system raises the launcher to the required angle before the autonomous aircraft are deployed.

The mobile configuration is designed to let crews relocate quickly after launch, reducing the risk of enemy targeting, counterfire, and drone attacks.

The five-round launcher enables consecutive drone deployments without immediate reloading, supporting reconnaissance, swarm, and other tactical missions.

Storing the drones in sealed launch containers is expected to reduce maintenance requirements, improve protection during storage, and keep the systems mission-ready.

A Closer Look at WRATH

WRATH is designed to support a range of tactical missions while also providing persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.

Its long-endurance design enables extended operations, allowing the UAV to maintain surveillance before carrying out time-sensitive tasks or relaying data to command nodes.

For navigation, the platform relies on vision-based terrain mapping and onboard autonomous mission logic, enabling independent flight without continuous external guidance.

Paired with the new mobile launcher, WRATH can be rapidly deployed from dispersed locations, offering a more flexible concept for future battlefield operations.
