India is set to strengthen its counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAS) capabilities as Gridbots introduces new electro-optical systems.
The Bharat-based company’s latest offerings include the Sleuthound Drone Tracker and Sleuthound-Stab, systems designed to improve target acquisition and engagement for vehicle-mounted weapons.
AI-Powered Drone Tracker
The Sleuthound Drone Tracker is an AI-enabled targeting system designed to identify and track unmanned aerial vehicles in contested environments.
The system uses edge computing to process sensor data onboard, reducing reliance on external networks and enabling faster responses.
According to Gridbots, Sleuthound can spot aerial threats at ranges of up to 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) while tracking up to 20 targets simultaneously.

After an operator confirms a target, the system can achieve lock-on in less than one second, allowing connected weapon systems to respond more quickly.
To improve identification accuracy and reduce false alerts, it combines high-precision optics with GPU-based processing.
The system can also combine sensor data to estimate the GPS coordinates of moving threats, including in challenging environments affected by smoke, dust, or other battlefield conditions.
Stabilization System
The Sleuthound-Stab is a stabilization platform designed to keep sensors and targeting equipment steady when mounted on moving military vehicles.
Using fiber optic gyroscope technology, the system can support payloads of up to 10 kilograms (22 pounds) while maintaining stabilization accuracy of 100 microradians, according to the company.
It can integrate with a range of sensors, including high-optical-zoom cameras, cooled medium-wave infrared thermal imagers, laser range finders, and laser designators.
Together, these capabilities enable operators to conduct continuous surveillance, identify targets in real time, measure distances, and provide targeting information for guided weapons.
