The British seas may soon have a new versatile protector.
BMT has revealed the Ellida Strike, a modular strike ship concept capable of taking on multiple roles in maritime operations.
Developed for the Royal Navy, the vessel can be reconfigured as a medical support platform, command-and-control hub, or logistics center using containerized PODS.
As a strike ship, it carries missile systems and can deploy both crewed and unmanned platforms, giving naval forces flexibility across missions.

“Having once commanded a ship of this class, I can say with confidence that [Ellida Strike] is the kind of platform every naval officer would want under their command,” stated BMT Head of Business Development Tim Neild.
BMT is debuting the ship at the 2025 DSEI (Defence and Security Equipment International) convention in London.
“Designed With Purpose”
Central to Ellida Strike is a digital infrastructure that links the ship to advanced” command-and-control systems, supporting the launch and recovery of multiple vessels.
The design also incorporates ergonomic features to improve living and working conditions for the crew.
“Every line of this ship has been drawn with purpose,” said BMT Chief Naval Architect Andy Kimber. “From propulsion to topside arrangement, [Ellida Strike] is engineered to deliver mission success in any theatre.”
Although not directly built to the UK Navy’s Multi-Role Strike Ship (MRSS) specifications, the company noted that Ellida Strike could serve as a reference for future MRSS designs.

“Whilst [Ellida Strike] is not the final answer, it’s a strong foundation for further development. It invites discussion, collaboration, and refinement,” Neild said.
“As the Royal Navy continues to shape its requirements, we stand ready to adapt and evolve our design to meet the needs of tomorrow’s operations.”
