Neros Technologies has made ground control stations more compact with a new system small enough to be carried in a pocket or worn on a plate carrier.
Built for the company’s Archer first-person view drones, the Crossbow Block 2 integrates the radio and pilot unit into a compact form factor designed for frontline use.
It cuts down the size of legacy setups by more than half while maintaining a 25-kilometer (15-mile) operational range.
Its antenna uses a dual-receiver configuration designed to improve signal coverage and reduce the need for precise alignment with the drone during operations.

The dual-receiver setup also adds redundancy, allowing continued functionality if one receiver fails or degrades in the field.
Crossbow Block 2 comes with push-pull connectors that snap into place, enabling rapid setup even in low-light or high-stress environments.
Seeing What the Drone Sees
The system delivers lower-latency, higher-quality video feeds that can be integrated directly into existing military command platforms.
This allows entire units to access live drone imagery, rather than limiting situational awareness to the operator alone.
The radio and pilot unit are ruggedized and weatherproofed to support sustained field operations in varied conditions.
Neros said the system is already being delivered to customers today and will be fielded under the US Department of Defense’s $1-billion Drone Dominance program.
