German firm HENSOLDT is pushing deeper into electronic warfare with a new mobile jammer designed to disrupt “all common global satellite navigation systems.”

The system, named SkyBarrier, is intended to support military forces and government users in protecting critical infrastructure from navigation-dependent threats.

According to the company, it can challenge signals across major satellite navigation constellations, including the US GPS, Russia’s GLONASS, Europe’s Galileo, and China’s BeiDou.

HENSOLDT also claims the system’s jamming capability extends across both civilian and military signal variants, indicating broad-spectrum interference potential across compatible receivers.

SkyBarrier is designed with upgradeability in mind, allowing key components to be replaced to accommodate future navigation signals without requiring a full system overhaul.

Its electronics are limited to three physical interfaces with no external connectivity, a design the company said improves system security and isolation.

‘Ready Within Minutes’

Built for rapid deployment, SkyBarrier can be set up by two operators, including mast and cabling, and made operational within minutes.

Activation is reportedly possible within seconds via a mechanical switch, removing the need for software-based configuration.

Unveiled at the Eurosatory 2026 event in Paris, the full system includes a portable electronic unit, an extendable telescopic mast, and supporting accessories.
