South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace has unveiled Chunmoo 3.0 as its next major evolution in rocket artillery for multi-domain operations.
The company is presenting the system as a modular launcher that combines guided rockets, AI-driven targeting, loitering munitions, and an anti-ship missile in a single platform.
A newly released computer-generated video from Hanwha provides the first visual look at the launcher and highlights its expanded mission roles.
The rendering shows the system identifying and striking targets while operating as a unified land and maritime fires asset.
Hanwha said Chunmoo 3.0 is built to support coastal defense, deep strike and precision engagement using a single launcher and crew.

The unveiling places the system in direct competition with other next-gen launchers that are moving toward modular payloads and networked targeting.
How It Works and What It Means
The system features dual pods that can be loaded with different rocket types in the same mission set to support mixed-range salvos.
Loitering munitions are deployed from the launcher to identify targets, track movement, and feed updated guidance to follow-on strikes.
The video shows the CTM ASBM anti-ship missile as a new element that gives ground forces a mobile option for sea-denial missions.
Hanwha highlighted interchangeable warheads for the launcher’s guided rockets, including high explosive, air burst, penetrator, and cluster payloads.
Chunmoo 3.0 also operates with digital fire control and rapid displacement tactics to reduce exposure to counter strikes after firing.
The design appears aimed at shortening the kill chain by keeping sensing and striking on a single platform rather than relying on separate intelligence-surveillance, and reconnaissance networks.
It also suggests a shift toward artillery systems that can search, select, and engage targets without waiting for higher command tasking.
