A German partnership could bring 3D printing to disaster zones and frontline soldiers in conflict areas.
Tech firms NEXOS.Group and CR-3D have unveiled FieldRack, a mobile 3D printing tool capable of producing tactical components right at disaster areas or on the battlefields.
The system rides on a ROVO electric all-terrain chassis from HAWE Mattro, letting the printer navigate rugged terrain and operate wherever troops need it.

The joint project aims to provide on-site manufacturing in isolated regions, where centralized production facilities are not accessible.
“With CR-3D’s industrial 3D printing systems, NEXOS.Group expands its technology portfolio and creates new opportunities to connect production lines, robotic cells, and mobile systems with additive processes,” NEXOS.Group said in a social media post.
Divide and Strategize
FieldRack is being marketed as a reliable solution for both military and “security-critical” applications.
CR-3D is in charge of building the industrial-grade additive manufacturing system, while NEXOS.Group handles the integration into the modular platform.

“We see this cooperation as a step toward new deployment scenarios — not as competition to existing automation partners, but as an extension of a broader ecosystem,” NEXOS.Group stated.
The platform was unveiled at the 2025 Formnext trade show held in Frankfurt, Germany.
