A live demonstration of ASELSAN’s new DRONEDEF concept showed how layered defenses respond in real time to evolving drone threats across multiple engagement scenarios.
The concept brings together systems such as İHTAR, EJDERHA, and GÖKBERK, forming a layered architecture that combines both soft-kill and hard-kill options for counter-drone engagement.
In the first scenario, İHTAR successfully detected two fiber-optic-controlled drones operating in a swarm configuration with help from the AURA 200-G Surveillance Radar.
The Drone Defense Operation Center then automatically processed the threat data and assigned engagement to EJDERHA, which neutralized the targets using directed-energy microwave effects.

In the next phase, İHTAR engaged two wirelessly controlled drones approaching from separate directions, intercepting them before they reached effective engagement range.
To conclude the trial, operators launched a fiber-optic-controlled drone toward the defended area. It was subsequently destroyed by GÖKBERK, which used high-energy effects to complete the engagement sequence.
The two-day campaign brought together Turkish and international media representatives, along with official delegations from 20 countries.
Multi-Layered Protection
According to ASELSAN, DRONEDEF can neutralize drone threats using a centralized command-and-control center that manages all subsystems.

It is supported by artificial intelligence and has a detection range of up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
It also integrates additional systems, including GÖKALP, MİĞFER, KORKUT, ŞAHİN LITE, and ŞAHİN DUAL airburst weapon systems.
Designed to counter mini- and micro-unmanned aerial system threats, DRONEDEF supports missions including critical infrastructure protection, convoy security, and tactical self-defense operations.
