Silvus Technologies has introduced a tactical networking system built to enhance mission-critical connectivity while being mounted on a soldier’s chest.
The system, dubbed StreamCaster NEXUS, streamlines situational awareness by improving access to live video, voice, and data for units on the battlefield. It is reportedly optimized for size, weight, and power, allowing greater flexibility for military operations on the move.
At its core is Silvus’ SM5200 mobile ad hoc network radio, which offers up to two watts of transmit power and data rates exceeding 100 megabits per second. It can also pair with Samsung S23 and S23 TE mobile phones.
To ensure durability and stability, NEXUS is secured by a Juggernaut Case chest mount that integrates with a tactical vest and prevents cable tangling.

“Developed with direct feedback from operators, every design element of StreamCaster NEXUS redefines what they should expect from a tactical networking system to maximize mission effectiveness,” said Silvus’ Product Vice President Neema Daneshvar.
“This tactical networking system provides military and law enforcement professionals with a secure, mobile communications hub that lets them share voice, video and data in real time, even when traditional infrastructure isn’t available.”
Staying Linked Under Fire
NEXUS leverages the Android Team Awareness Kit to deliver live mapping and real-time mission updates for troops.
The system also maintains reliable communication across contested terrain through Ethernet and USB connectivity options, while Silvus’ wireless mobile network technology ensures secure operations even under electronic attack.
Its compatibility with other Silvus radios also allows operators to detach the SM200 module for isolated or small-unit missions.
The StreamCaster NEXUS will make its debut at the Association of the United State Army’s Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C., from October 13 to 15.
