A new tethered module is allowing small drones to stay airborne for hours, giving defense and public safety teams a way to maintain continuous aerial surveillance.

Developed by Elistair, the module is designed for Parrot’s ANAFI UKR, the Ukrainian version of its ANAFI micro-drone.

It connects the aircraft to the company’s Ligh-T or Safe-T tether stations through a micro-tether that supplies continuous power, eliminating the need to land for battery changes.

The system is intended for missions that require persistent aerial coverage, including force protection, border and perimeter surveillance, event security, and emergency response.

Despite its extended flight time, the setup is designed to remain easy to deploy. Elistair said it can be ready for flight in under two minutes.

Bringing Tethered Endurance to a Micro-drone

The combination gives operators the portability of the ANAFI UKR alongside the extended flight time of a ground-powered system.

Rather than relying on repeated battery-powered flights, teams can keep the drone overhead for longer periods of observation.

“With this new solution, we bring the endurance of tethered operations to a drone that our defense and public safety customers already trust,” said Guilhem de Marliave, CEO of Elistair.

Chris Roberts, Parrot’s Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, also noted that the integration expands the ANAFI UKR’s surveillance capabilities while retaining its portability, ease of deployment, and secure architecture.
