Origin Robotics recently tested its AI-powered BLAZE counter-drone system, successfully neutralizing airborne targets on the first attempt.
The trial, conducted with the Latvian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence, saw the system track and hone in on a target fully autonomously.
Footage from the test shows the BLAZE approaching its target at speeds of seven meters (23 feet) per second, making continuous adjustments along the way.

Origin Robotics said Latvia will be the first to use BLAZE’s autonomous features, reflecting its push to strengthen Europe’s drone defense capabilities.
‘Deployed Within Minutes’
BLAZE combines radar detection with AI to enhance how it identifies targets before locking onto them autonomously.
Operators can then authorize engagement or abort the mission before the system reaches the target.
Built as a man-portable counter-drone asset, it can be set up within just 10 minutes, with each additional interceptor drone ready to launch in under one minute.
Origin Robotics debuted the BLAZE earlier this year, with the company describing it as a “cost-effective solution” against hostile drones.
“The modern battlefield is increasingly shaped by drone warfare, demanding advanced, cost-effective solutions to counter airborne threats in real time,” the firm stated on its website.
