A long-range unmanned aerial system (UAS) under development by German firm Quantum Cyber features stealth architecture intended to reduce detectability from adversary radar in contested airspace.

Called PHANTOM-950, the drone combines a blended-wing airframe with a multi-stage propulsion system optimized for launch, cruise, and terminal flight operations.

It has a projected range of up to 950 kilometers (590 miles), an altitude of 18,000 meters (59,055 feet), and a payload capacity of 10 kilograms (22 pounds).

Its modular payload architecture allows operators to configure the aircraft for different mission requirements rather than a single dedicated role.

The platform is envisioned to support logistics, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), communications relay, and electronic warfare (EW) missions.

Once developed, the PHANTOM-950 will expand the company’s portfolio with a long-endurance, multi-role UAS.

Ready for the Factory Floor

Quantum Cyber plans to manufacture the PHANTOM-950 domestically after completing a previously announced manufacturing acquisition and expansion.

Bringing production in-house is expected to strengthen quality control, improve supply chain resilience, and increase manufacturing capacity.

“PHANTOM-950 represents another step in the evolution of our autonomous platform portfolio,” said David Lazar, chief executive officer of Quantum Cyber.

“Our objective is to develop modular systems capable of supporting a wide variety of government and commercial missions while leveraging the manufacturing capabilities we are building in the United States.”
