An AI-enabled biosurveillance platform is aiming to give military commanders and analysts a single hub for detecting, assessing, and responding to biological threats.

Developed by Texas-based Cyberhill Partners, the Biosurveillance Information Platform (BIP) consolidates analytical tools previously spread across multiple software systems into a unified operational environment.

It is designed to provide commanders and biosurveillance specialists with a common picture of biological risks, supporting mission planning and decision-making across the armed forces.

BIP is built on the Defense Innovation Unit’s ServiceNow AI platform, which provides the underlying workflow, application, and security framework.

Cyberhill adds front-end data integration and mission-specific AI to tailor the system for military biosurveillance.

“This partnership is about applying commercial platform technology to a mission that needs it now,” said Jake McAndrew, Cyberhill Partners Chief Operating Officer.

“The ServiceNow AI Platform gives us a foundation our customers already trust, which lets the Cyberhill team focus on what matters: building AI-enabled mission applications that put the right intelligence in front of analysts and commanders at the speed the threat demands.”

New Capabilities Underway

Cyberhill is developing additional AI capabilities that would allow analysts to translate foreign-language reports and monitor outbreak indicators without relying on manual translation.

The company also plans to automate disease classification, organizing incoming alerts by threat type to help operators identify potential risks more quickly.

For mission planning, Cyberhill is working on predictive models that estimate how an outbreak could spread, helping commanders determine where and when to deploy resources such as vaccines before conditions worsen.

Future updates are also expected to enable the platform to generate summarized reports, providing commanders with actionable information while allowing analysts to review and refine the results.
