A new software platform from Estonia is turning enemy drones against themselves by using their own intercepted video feeds to reveal their location.

Developed by Tallinn-based Farsight Vision, the “FSV Localizer” geolocates hostile drones within seconds by matching live video footage against real-world terrain maps.

It then plots the drone’s full flight path step by step, allowing operators to pinpoint both its current and previous positions without specialized hardware.

To use the system, operators simply define a search area on a digital map and connect the intercepted video stream. FSV Localizer then scans the terrain, finds a matching location, and identifies the drone’s coordinates.

Building a Geospatial Ecosystem

FSV Localizer is the latest addition to Farsight Vision’s growing geospatial intelligence platform, expanding its tools for rapid decision-making in high-intensity combat environments.

Earlier this year, the company introduced a capability that enables operators to identify strong and weak communications zones before launching drones, helping avoid potential signal dead spots.

Together, the technologies are designed to improve situational awareness and accelerate frontline decision-making in contested environments.

“In modern warfare, an intercepted drone video feed is more than just footage — it’s a source of intelligence, if you know how to read it,” said Farsight Vision CEO Viktoriia Yaremchuk, as quoted by United24 Media.
