Farsight Vision is enabling drone operators to identify strong and weak signal zones before launch, helping avoid potential communication dead spots during missions.

The capability is part of a new update called “Link Coverage” for the Ukrainian company’s FSV application.

The feature simulates expected signal coverage within a given area, allowing pilots to better plan routes and reduce the risk of losing control during operations.

It is compatible with DJI drones and uses technical specifications such as signal range as the basis for its coverage predictions.

Operators can select a drone model and plot a position on a map, with the system generating a simulated coverage footprint based on local terrain and conditions.

Link Coverage can also highlight areas where connectivity may weaken or fail entirely, supporting more reliable route planning for complex missions.

Expanding the FSV App

For unsupported drone models, the update allows manual input of system parameters to generate coverage estimates.

Farsight Vision said Link Coverage is designed to simplify pre-mission planning and improve predictability in unmanned operations.

The company also called on other drone manufacturers to join the FSV ecosystem by sharing technical system parameters of their products to enable broader integration.
