Fortem Technologies has pulled off a “technological first” with its AI-powered SkyDome command-and-control system, taking down five drones at once without causing collateral damage.
Under SkyDome control, five DroneHunter F700 interceptors went head-to-head against five attack drones, each flying pre-programmed routes.
SkyDome tracked, coordinated, and executed all five takedowns autonomously, with no human intervention.

The system also demonstrated its ability to plan flight paths while respecting airspace rules and avoiding mid-air collisions, potentially enabling faster responses to drone threats.
“As hostile drone capabilities become more autonomous and scalable, defending against swarms is no longer a hypothetical challenge,” Fortem Chief Executive Officer Jon Gruen said.
“By demonstrating fully autonomous, multi-drone defense with safe, simultaneous intercepts, Fortem has shown that its leadership in counter-drone now extends to counter-swarm.”
Ready for Takeoff
Fortem describes the SkyDome system as a proven counter-drone solution, capable of protecting airspace day and night in all weather conditions.

It integrates three core components: the company’s trademark TrueView sensors, advanced control software, and the fifth-generation DroneHunter F700 interceptor.
Developed in-house by Fortem, the interceptor has reportedly recorded over 4,500 drone captures, primarily targeting Group 2 drones often used by rogue actors and terrorist groups.
Built from the ground up to support counter-drone missions, the F700 features enhanced maneuverability and autonomous decision-making.
It has recently caught attention after being selected for the Pentagon’s Replicator 2 program, aimed at accelerating the deployment of weapon systems that can keep up with modern threats.
