Italian firm ELT Group has unveiled “KARMA” (Kinetic Anti-drone Mobile Asset), a next-generation counter-drone system designed to neutralize multiple threats simultaneously.

Deployable in both mobile and fixed setups, KARMA uses artificial intelligence to supercharge its sensors and effectors, enabling fast and accurate detection, recognition, and identification of a wide variety of drones.

KARMA is built for rapid deployment and supports continuous real-time airspace monitoring.

It can be deployed in both military and civilian contexts to safeguard large areas, such as borders and critical infrastructure.

High-Tech, Low Profile

The system features a radio frequency (RF) sensor that pinpoints drone communication protocols and extracts key data to guide countermeasures. Its onboard jammer then disrupts those signals, taking threats offline.

KARMA’s modular, radarless design makes it electromagnetically silent — and harder to spot — while supporting seamless integration into larger air defense networks.

KARMA offers continuous 360-degree surveillance using infrared cameras equipped with a “track while scan” function.

These cameras work in tandem with AI-powered software within the command-and-control unit to track and monitor targets in real time through an intuitive human-machine interface.

AI algorithms enhance the accuracy and reliability of drone detection, recognition, and identification, providing operators with precise situational awareness.

KARMA also connects to fire control systems, though the final decision to engage a threat remains human-controlled.
