Draganfly has demonstrated a lightweight strike drone system that pairs its Group I unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with the Mjolnir Modular Munition System at a Pentagon invite-only event.

Part of the Department of Defense’s Low-Cost Uncrewed Combat Attack Systems (LUCAS) initiative, the event brought together senior US defense officials and allied partners to evaluate emerging autonomous strike tech.

The integrated system performed surveillance-to-strike fusion and modular payload deployment, both enabled by a multi-drop launcher built for evolving tactical demands.

At its core is the Mjolnir, developed by MMS Products Inc. It is a drone-agnostic system designed to deliver scalable lethality with payloads tailored for fragmentation, explosively formed penetrator, and anti-armor effects.

“Being invited to demonstrate our integrated solution with MMS at the Pentagon event is a major validation of the work we’re doing in tactical UAV innovation,” said Draganfly CEO Cameron Chell.

“This collaboration illustrates our commitment to mission-ready technologies that enhance operational effectiveness and warfighter survivability.”

Building Momentum

Draganfly’s participation in LUCAS points to growing interest in attritable, rapidly deployable systems for both homeland security and military operations.

The demo builds on the company’s 2024 agreement with MMS to co-develop a tactical strike package for a wide range of mission requirements.

Mjolnir recently became the first live munition dropped from a US Marine Corps VTOL drone, marking a milestone in the Pentagon’s shift toward modular, drone-launched kinetic capabilities.

“As global conflicts evolve, the need for agile, low-cost, and rapidly deployable technologies continues to intensify. Through partnerships like this, Draganfly and MMS are advancing the next generation of kinetic autonomy in defense,” Draganfly stated.
