General Atomics and CAE have partnered to develop the next-generation mission trainer for the MQ-9B SkyGuardian drone.

Over the next five years, the partnership will deliver 11 next-gen mission trainers and up to 50 advanced training devices to enhance MQ-9B operator readiness.

CAE will integrate cutting-edge visualization technology, including the CAE Prodigy Image Generator, which offers high-fidelity graphics, high-resolution 3D content, and physics-based modeling to create an ultra-realistic training environment.

Built on a state-of-the-art gaming engine, Prodigy supports multiple display systems, from projection setups to head-mounted displays, maximizing immersion and skill transfer.

This initiative is part of Team SkyGuardian Canada, a program driving collaboration between General Atomics and Canadian businesses. Launched in 2023, the program followed Ottawa’s $1.72-billion selection of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian.
