BlueHalo has secured a $49.9-million contract to provide electronic warfare (EW) sensors for the US Navy and US Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) drones.
Awarded by the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, the deal includes hardware, materials and components, and engineering support.
The company will also handle the integration, testing, and upgrading of the sensor systems across various unmanned aerial systems.
According to BlueHalo Products & Space Systems Portfolio President Mary Clum, the company will leverage its technical expertise in integrating the EW sensors, which can be an “incredibly complex” process.
“BlueHalo provides customers with the modularity, scalability, and interoperability necessary to support a variety of platforms and configurations,” she stated.
Details on which US Navy and USSOCOM platforms will receive the new sensors remain undisclosed.
A Trusted Partner
BlueHalo emphasized that the latest contract reflects the trust and confidence placed in its defense products by the US military.
The company has previously supplied sensor systems for US military programs, including the Group 3 UAS and USSOCOM’s multi-mission tactical UAS programs.
BlueHalo has also contributed significantly to the mid-endurance UAS program supporting the Joint Threat Warning System Program Office.
The company noted that its modular EW sensors feature an open systems architecture, allowing for seamless integration of new technologies and components.
“BlueHalo continues to deliver inspired engineering and tactical solutions to help our nation stay ahead of global threats,” BlueHalo Chief Growth Officer James Batt said.
