Speed is emerging as the UK’s next bet against modern aerial threats, unveiling two new high-speed interceptors designed for “fast-paced, precise engagements.”
London Defence R&D’s “Baby Raptor” and “Raptor XL” are being positioned to take on missions where older systems might be too slow to react.
They are built to track targets on their own, using artificial intelligence to engage threats within narrow windows of opportunity.

“As the nature of modern warfare continues to evolve, emerging threats are driving the need for innovative and highly responsive defense technologies,” London Defence Founder Aytekin Guclu told Defence Blog.
The company said it is still fine-tuning the interceptors, refining electronic speed controllers and motor tech to push performance even further.
Next-Gen Autopilot
Both interceptors are equipped with the company’s own Raptor Pilot AI Pro, a dedicated “autopilot” that helps stabilize flight and guides accurate target tracking during high-speed missions.
By matching navigation data with visual cues, the system can execute engagements without human input, completing missions even in challenging conditions.

“The future of security is not just detection — it’s rapid, intelligent response in the sky,” the company stated on social media.
Production timelines for the new interceptors remain under wraps.
