Israeli drone maker Robotican has introduced an upgrade to its ROOSTER hybrid drone system, giving it precision-guided strike capabilities for indoor and urban operations.

The new variant can carry up to 300 grams (10.6 ounces) of payload, enabling integration of a small warhead alongside tactical equipment.

This transforms the platform from a reconnaissance tool into a loitering munition that can deliver precise strikes in confined surroundings, including buildings and tunnels.

The upgraded ROOSTER also includes AI features that allow it to autonomously track and lock onto targets. A safety mechanism also prevents the drone from attacking friendly troops.

“With the armed ROOSTER, we are bringing precision and autonomy to environments that were previously off-limits to loitering munitions,” said Robotican Chief Executive Officer Hagai Balshai.

“Forces can now conduct surgical strikes inside structures with a compact, intelligent platform that minimizes risk to operators and surrounding civilians.”

High Roller, Sneaky Flyer

The ROOSTER’s unique structural design lets it roll through narrow passages in addition to flying, with over 30 minutes of rolling endurance and 12 minutes of hover time.

It is equipped with daylight, low-light, and near-infrared cameras to support surveillance, reconnaissance, and search and rescue operations.

Already a NATO-standard platform, the drone can stay airborne for up to 90 minutes, providing real-time video feedback of hostile areas with 1080p quality.

According to the company, the system has been deployed by the US Drug Enforcement Administration and is now in training with the Spanish Armed Forces.
