Finnish defense firm Patria has introduced TRACKX, a tracked all-terrain vehicle the company describes as its “ultimate” platform for extreme battlefield mobility.
Designed to operate across snow, forests, roads, and water, the vehicle carries up to 12 troops, including a driver and a commander, and offers NATO-standard protection against ballistics and mines.
It has a maximum combat weight of 15.5 tons (14,061 kilograms) and can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers (50 miles) per hour. Its amphibious capability enables it to traverse water at four kilometers (2.5 miles) per hour.
For added protection, TRACKX comes equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun, allowing soldiers to engage threats in challenging environments.
“Patria is very proud to have launched this new exceptional all-terrain tracked vehicle, Patria TRACKX, on the market,” said Patria Executive Vice President Jussi Järvinen. “It offers an optimal solution for various applications that demand high mobility standards for military units.”
Debuted at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2025 convention in London, TRACKX is expected to enter mass production by 2027.
Combining Legacy Features
Program director Timo Mennala explained that the new platform combines features of wheeled vehicles in service with the Finnish military.
“That is the basic idea — putting these things together and [trying] to diminish the problems that you can have in different segments,” Mennala said, as quoted by National Defense.
With an operating range of 500 kilometers (311 miles), the vehicle is also capable of communicating with other tracked vehicles.
“This future all-terrain vehicle will revolutionize the market as a modern, affordable alternative to current light tracked vehicles,” Patria stated on its website.
