At a time when loitering munitions are reshaping modern battlefields, Pakistan used the World Defense Show 2026 to spotlight YALGHAR-200, its latest long-range autonomous strike system.

Designed for independent operations, the weapon has a maximum takeoff weight of 50 kilograms (110 pounds) and a reported strike range of up to 200 kilometers (124 miles).

It can remain airborne for 90-120 minutes, giving operators a crucial window to locate, assess, and confirm targets before executing a strike.

Carrying 10 to 20 kilograms (22 to 44 pounds) of warhead, the munition can take on fortified positions, lightly defended structures, or armored targets, depending on its payload configuration.

YALGHAR 200 can be launched via booster-assisted system or deployed by air drop, enabling use from forward ground positions and integration with crewed aircraft or larger unmanned platforms.

Propulsion is provided by a gasoline engine, favoring extended range and longer loiter times over the quieter operation of electric-powered alternatives.

Meeting Modern Demands

The appearance of YALGHAR 200 at the World Defense Show 2026 signals Pakistan’s broader push to expand its footprint in the global unmanned strike systems market.

Once a niche capability, loitering munitions have become a central feature of modern warfare, fusing target acquisition and precision strike in a compact, low-support package.

By introducing YALGHAR 200, GIDS appears to be targeting demand for extended-range systems that retain tactical mobility and deployment flexibility.

It also underscores the company’s ambition to compete in a sector driven by rapid innovation and immediate operational insights.
