Israel has presented a new soft-kill defense solution it says is effective against virtually any air-breathing threat.
Developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the ground-based “Hypnosis” system is designed to disrupt low-cost drones and one-way effectors that rely on satellite navigation.
By utilizing combat-proven Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) technology, it can interfere with GNSS signals across multiple frequency bands, constellations, and directions.
Rather than relying on interceptor missiles, Hypnosis offers a non-kinetic layer of air defense that could reduce the use of costly munitions against inexpensive aerial threats.

It is also designed for rapid integration into existing and future air defense networks, with compatibility across command-and-control systems, sensor suites, and other platforms.
According to IAI, Hypnosis has proven effective against resilient Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems and can provide wide-area protection against precision-guided threats.
How It Works
Hypnosis consists of multiple mobile stations that work together to create an adaptive electronic shield against aerial threats.
Each station connects to a central command-and-control node, enabling real-time coordination, threat analysis, and rapid response to detected targets.
IAI envisions deploying the stations around strategic sites, where they can be quickly positioned and synchronized with other air defense systems to strengthen layered defenses.
