India is strengthening the protection of its skies against evolving airborne threats with a new AI-powered anti-drone system.
Developed by Zen Technologies Limited, the fully integrated system blends soft-kill and hard-kill capabilities to counter various threats, including first-person view and coordinated swarm drones.
Modular by design, it employs a multi-layered approach that combines radio frequency jamming with Global Navigation Satellite System disruption and spoofing.
The system can integrate remote-controlled weapon stations equipped with 12.7mm and 7.62mm guns, alongside air defense systems and kamikaze-style interceptors.

At its core sits a data fusion and command hub that combines sensor inputs with AI-driven threat detection, tracking, and response functions.
A domestically developed radar allows the platform to spot small drones with reduced radar cross-sections at ranges of up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).
According to the company, the system can track more than 100 drones simultaneously at distances exceeding 15 kilometers (9.3 miles).
Flexible Deployment
The system is designed for use across multiple operational environments, allowing it to adapt to a broad range of mission and deployment requirements.

It can be mounted on vehicles to protect convoys and maneuver units, deployed in a lightweight man-portable configuration for forward or counter-insurgency operations, or installed as a static defense layer for bases and critical infrastructure.
Building Momentum
Zen Technologies developed the system under the Integrated Digital Defense Model framework, a program focused on linking sensors, AI, and networked defense capabilities into a unified architecture.
The unveiling reflects a broader push to bolster India’s domestic defense technology, especially in the rapidly evolving counter-drone sector.
“Built with precision and reliability at the core, they empower forces with enhanced situational awareness and immediate response capability against evolving aerial threats,” the company stated.
“From border security to critical infrastructure protection, this is next-generation defence — proactive, adaptive, and battle-ready.”
The system was showcased at the North Tech Symposium 2026 event in Prayagraj, India.
