General Atomics AeroTec Systems is raising its aviation game with the new Do228 NXT aircraft built for fast-changing maritime and border operations.
Designed to operate in demanding conditions, the aircraft features short takeoff and landing capabilities, allowing it to operate from remote or austere locations.
It comes equipped with an autopilot, advanced navigation, dual attitude and air data sensors, and safety systems including terrain and collision alerts, reducing pilot workload in complex missions.

The aircraft measures 16.56 meters (54 feet) long, spans 16.97 meters (55 feet), and stands 4.86 meters (15 feet) tall, providing space for additional payload.
Powered by two Honeywell TPE331-10 turboprops, the Do228 NXT can reach altitudes of up to 7,620 meters (25,000 feet) and sustain a cruise speed of 240 knots (276 miles/444 kilometers per hour).
Multi-Role by Design
With maritime and border missions becoming increasingly dynamic, the Do228 NXT aims to offer adaptable capabilities to keep pace with evolving challenges.

Its in-flight roller door allows the safe deployment of rescue equipment during over-water missions.
Its flexible design supports roles including coastal surveillance, naval reconnaissance, protecting underwater infrastructure, and environmental monitoring in the North Sea and Baltic Sea.
The aircraft is set to debut at Navy Tech 2026, a defense expo in Sweden.
